Meet the Face behind the Hook

Fiber artist and designer Nancie Jona, or “NJ”, has worked with yarn for over fifteen years. Initially starting as a knitter, Nancie worked through her love of creation after finding crochet back in 2014. While her brief affair with the hook was on and off for many years, Nancie committed fully to producing yarn crafts in 2020.

As a lover of invention, Nancie has one goal: to create with purpose, to manufacture garments and household items as a celebration of individuality. Crochet is a personal journey, with the results showing the fruition of hard labour and love and celebrating the centuries of handiwork in today’s society. That’s what makes crochet special, and that’s why NJ crochets!

Nancie’s designs are bright and playful to evoke joy, but to also hold a purpose. Cute and functional, useful and gorgeous. There are mundane parts of daily life that can always benefit from a bit of whimsy, and EnjayCrochets has a one goal: to have (fun)ction in our everyday lives!

In their spare time, Nancie is working on a romance novel, fallen in love with gouache paint, and is slowly learning the piano. They also enjoy baking (whether or not its successful), and is supposed to not yell at the TV when their favourite baseball team is losing.
